Masjid At-Taqwa’s RC flat roof has serious water leakage problem. Water seeped through the concrete roof into the prayers’ rooms below and hence an urgent solution needed. Nukote Polyurea was chosen due to its excellent waterproofing properties but mainly for its quick application and fast turnaround in an environment where the conditions play a major role. The original waterproofing system was removed and surface preparation was done. Sealant was then filled on the construction and expansion joints before primer and polyurea application was done.

Nukote Polyurea ST was then spray-applied to a thickness of 2 mm DFT on the concrete surfaces. This application method provides a seamless membrane that can move and flex with the building’s expansion and contractions and it is totally waterproof.

As for the metal roof and dome, Nukote ALU (Aliphatic) was applied after the Nukote ST was applied to achieve colour stability. Gold colour was chosen for the Nukote ALU (Aliphatic) as requested by the client.
